Australian car buyers who chose a Mazda in recent times most likely either opted for, or at least strongly considered, the enormously popular Soul Red Metallic body colour.
Now Mazda has tweaked the shade in a body colour option coming initially on the new Mazda CX-5.
Called Soul Red Crystal, Mazda tell us the new colour option will be made available to other models in its range in 2017.
Designed to enhance the Mazda ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’ design language, the new colour boasts 20% greater colour saturation and 50% more depth than Soul Red, according to the Japanese car company.
Mazda saying Soul Red Crystal gives off a fresher and more lustrous transparency and features extremely thin aluminium flakes which help intensify shaded areas and make it possible to achieve a new depth of colour.
Revealing the new colour today, Mazda said they believe that “colour is an element of form” and have vowed to continue to develop new colours and paint technologies that assist the brand maintain a strong emotional connection with customers.
